Well, after two long years of posting, I’m finally taking a break.

Thank you guys for everything for the past two years. It’s genuinely been so fun making daily doodles. But all good things must come to an end eventually. I’m tired.

What are the plans moving forward?

Taking a break:

Life in general has been really rough lately. Tons of family drama, personal medical issues making it impossible to function some days, and my childhood dog recently passed away a few days after Christmas last year. So it was a real challenge to “keep up appearances” if you know what I mean.

I’ve said this plenty of times in the past already, however I’ll repeat it since there’s surprisingly a lot more new people that have followed since then. I’m taking a whole month off from posting entirely. So I won’t be active on Silksongeveryday until about March 14th. Why? Hopefully it’s obvious but posting daily content for two years straight really does something to you. I’ve grown tired of this blog just a little bit, and I feel stepping away from it for a month will help me reconnect. I still love the game and its community, and I’d hate for my disinterest in a single blog to ruin that. If a month long break could fix that then so be it.

I’m also taking a somewhat indefinite break from daily doodles. I WILL still be posting doodles occasionally every once in a while after I come back from my month long break. However I won’t be doing daily doodles.

So no daily doodles ever again?

There is only one condition that has to be met for me to return to daily doodles.

A Silksong release date is announced.

Which is…let’s face it, a release date might not happen any time soon. 6 years of near radio silence from TC? I’m not expecting much, especially not in a month.

But WHEN a release date is announced I’ll definitely return to daily doodles and do a sort of daily “countdown” until Silksong is officially out.

Will doodle requests still be open?

Yes! Even if I will no longer be doing daily posts I will still occasionally post every once in a while with doodles! So if there’s a specific doodle you’d like to request and you have an extra $1 hanging around, hornet doodle requests are open on my ko-fi!!

What about the current projects that were happening on Silksongeveryday?

I’m still working on them! Just as mentioned before, a lot of stuff happened irl so it’s kind of on the back burner.

For the Hornet Journal Series: I plan to post the remaining entries after I come back from my month long break. Whether I work on them during that month long break totally depends on how I’m feeling. But there may be a likely chance I work on a few here and there on my own time! But regardless, I do plan to finish this project. So no worries!

For Hornet’s Strange adventures: I know it’s been ages since this particular project finished on the blog. Development for the free game is slow going since I’m working on this project entirely by myself with a game engine I’ve never used before. Progress is being made but it’s unfortunately slow thanks for irl conflicts. But, just like the journal series, I do plan to finish this project so I promise it won’t be abandoned!! I just need a break first lol.

please help me pay for my dad's funeral

i decided it was easier to make a new post. please reblog. i appreciate it so much.

on december 20th my dad passed away, after i had been caring for him for a year and a half with his heath becoming progressively worse over these past couple of months. he had absolutely no money at all, as he was disabled in several ways. i have three sisters but only one of them have been helping me with caring for him, and we just don't have any money either. my sister is doing random temp jobs in pre-schools because that's all she's been able to get, and i am disabled myself and can't work.

on december 27th we had a small ceremony in the hospital chapel with only the closest family present, and afterwards we went to my sister's for coffee and i had baked my dad's favorite cake. we are incredibly to have found a very sweet and empathetic funeral arranger (english not my first language i'm sorry) who has been very understanding of our financial situation.

but even the most economic of death aftercare is highly pricey. the price for her services has come to 12,000 danish kroner but that's not including a headstone which we don't even have a price for yet but it looks like several thousand on top of that along with fees for having the urn put in the ground, and there's also obligatory court fees for estate settlement that i don't even know about yet because the beaurocracy is slow and i am fumbling in the dark here doing all of this on my own and i have to be so damn practical in handling the literal worst thing in my entire life.

i will spare my rambling. so far from my last post so many lovely people have reblogged and given lovely donations and so many kind words, but at this point donations amount to about 1300 danish kroner, which is just a drop in the bucket, and i am so ashamed to have to go online begging for help to do this, but i don't know what else to do.

i would do the whole countdown to show how much i need and how much has already been donated but at this point i genuinely don't even know how much the final cost will be but it's looking like at least 16,000 danish kroner.

All the lights illuminated every nook and corner of the house. The winter chill mingled with the warmth of the holidays—contradictory, yet perfectly balanced—filled the air of the living room where everyone had gathered to celebrate New Year’s Eve.

“It’s funny how humans get so happy when the Earth finishes one revolution around the Sun,” Soonyoung remarked, holding a glass of champagne as he made small talk with his friends.

You scanned the room, trying to keep a calm expression while searching for Minghao among the sea of people. It was a big night, after all, and you couldn’t deny the nerves bubbling inside you.

A sudden tap on your shoulder sent a jolt through you, but as you turned, the shock turned into a pleasant surprise.

“Hi… I was looking for you. Where did you disappear?” you asked.

Minghao looked at you intently, his gaze warm as he admired how the lights made you glow.

“I was in the washroom. I wish you’d been there with me too… You know why,” he said, a teasing tone laced in his words.

“You really need help, you know?” you replied, rolling your eyes, but the two of you couldn’t help but laugh softly together.

As the noise of the party buzzed around you, Minghao’s voice broke through, soft yet carrying a hint of hesitation.

“So, do you think we should make our relationship official? Tonight? Is it a good time?”

You hesitated for a moment, but before you could respond, he added, “We can do it later, no worries. Whatever you’re comfortable with.”

His considerate words put your mind at ease. After all, letting your friends know about your relationship would feel like taking a big step forward.

“I think we should,” you said. “It’s better than them finding out on their own.”

Minghao smiled. “I was hoping you’d say that. How do you want to go about it?”

As the night continued, the excitement in the room grew. When the countdown began, the anticipation was palpable as everyone counted down to midnight.

“Ten! Nine! Eight! Seven!”

You and Minghao exchanged a glance, bracing yourselves for the reveal but also sharing in the excitement of the New Year.

“Three, two, one—Happy New Year!”

The room erupted into cheers as Minghao suddenly pulled you into a kiss, almost impatiently. The world seemed to go silent for a moment as everyone turned to look at you both, their faces reflecting a mix of surprise and amusement.

You felt self-conscious for a brief second, but when the room broke into cheers, you let yourself melt into the moment.

“We knew you two would start dating!” Jeonghan and Seungcheol exclaimed, their grins wide. It was clear they were proud of their matchmaking instincts.

Minghao pulled back, his cheeks tinged with pink. He’d never kissed anyone in front of his friends before either.

“Oh, shut up, guys,” he muttered, though his smile betrayed his embarrassment.

He wrapped his arm around your shoulders, pulling you closer and placing a gentle kiss on the top of your head as everyone continued to tease you.

“This is exactly why we didn’t want to tell you!” you replied dramatically, drawing laughter from the group.

As the party carried on, Minghao leaned in and asked, “Well? Doesn’t it feel better to have made it official?”

You nodded, glancing at your friends, who were still buzzing with excitement and playful remarks.

The smile on your face said it all, and Minghao knew in that moment that he’d fight the world to keep that smile shining so brightly.

Six Sentence Sunday

The writing bug has bit me. I was worried all my writing inspiration would die back down to nothing after the Countdown, but that has not happened! I've been feeling so creative lately, and I've done more work on The Way We Are in the past few days than I have in months so that feels good. Hopefully, soon i can finish writing it and start posting again! (but no snippets from that today, i fear i've shown too much already)

Also, I've thought up a new idea for COBB this year! I learned my lesson from last time, and am writing something shorter and starting it earlier, but I'm really excited about my idea! Plus, I'm working on some fics for my other main fandom (Stranger Things), and have been having a lot of fun with it.

Robin should look away. “No.” Robin can’t look away. “Pretty please with a cherry on top?” “Nope,” Robin says, popping the p. “I’ll do your makeup for you,” she pleads. “I’ll even let you borrow my clothes. Please? Jason’s gonna be a whiny bitch all night, and I don't want to go alone.” “If you think Jason’s going to be rude, you don’t have to go.”

Secret Project:

“Yeah, this’ll make a great letter,” I say to no one. “Dear Baz, I’ve been watching shitty TV and making messes with my new limbs. Everything’s fucking hunky dory. Love, your magickless, disaster-of-a-boyfriend, Simon Snow.” He’d probably send me a break-up letter in response to that. I read through Baz’s letter again and wish that I could still do magic so I could smooth the wrinkles. Good as new or Pressed paper would do the trick. Although, even if I had my magic, I’d probably end up wiping the words off with the folds. I was useless with magic, and I’m even more useless without.

The countdown has begun!

In just six months one month, we'll be celebrating another run of the I Will Remember You Marathon, an annual fanfiction marathon devoted to the relationship between Buffy and Angel.

And this year is extra special — it’s the marathon’s 20th anniversary!

Throughout November, we publish a new story every day in honor of the Angel episode “I Will Remember You,” which originally aired on November 23, 1999.

The marathon got its start in 2004 when it was created by Leni. The tradition has been kept alive since then by dedicated Buffy/Angel fans, including Chrislee, Dark Star, and Angelus2Hot. In 2023, the event was revamped by a group of authors and fandom artists and achieved its biggest turnout in more than a decade!

In addition to fics, the revamped marathon also welcomes artworks including fanart, fanvids, edits, and GIFs.

market update // january 4th

market has been repetitive the past month-ish. but the closer we get to spring the more that will change! i even started a countdown on my a-frame sign.

one of the 13 projects i've been hard at work on is coordinating a seed swap at the market. i'm gonna do a whole post after the event, talking about prep and feedback from the swap itself. but today was the first day we made the announcement for the event, so now it's offish and i'm more nervous than before 🫠

a fellow farmer vendor came to me and apologized because he didn't have any seeds to donate. he said he has a ton of them, but all are dated 2022 and 2023. that's not the odd part. it's when i told him that that's perfectly fine. i said a lot of the seeds that i have already received for the swap are old seeds, some even older than his. so far, all from big companies, so no biggie. i explained that the ONLY downside to a free seed swap with donations is that the germination isn't guaranteed. in which he replied 'well, what's the point? why get people disappointed if they don't grow??' and honestly, his response befuddled me so much i didn't have a quick response, and he walked away. he's a decent guy, comes off rude but one of those you know they don't actually mean it it's just their social skills are not leveled up.

i mean... i still don't know how to respond. i buy seeds that are "brand new" and don't germinate at all, but c'est la vie y'know??? oh well

also i'm taking my signage duties very seriously at the market. probably too seriously.

a first-time customer came to me today asking so many questions. turns out she got a greenhouse for christmas! meeting people at the beginning of jumping down the rabbit hole is just so much fun for me. teehee. but also saw a customer today who doesn't buy seeds but buys all the plants. she was so excited to see my countdown and we nerded over plants for a good 20 minutes.

I am currently chatting with a friend to get a new pfp and header for this account so it’ll have an updated look for 2024! Super exciting, and he is so incredibly talented, I can’t wait for y’all to see it! We’re going for a sorta vintage Halloween look, it’s so cool!

As for the prompts, I’m 60% finished with the list and it includes plenty of kinks and themes and locations to choose from! what are everyone's reactions to scarian getting together in tiny apartment au

tysm for asking this <3 i have been Wanting to talk about it

so! don't think i've mentioned this but they get together during december, in winter break. grian goes with scar to visit his family (he usually spends the holiday breaks with jimmy, his cousin, but not this time for reasons i'll mention some other time) and it's sometime during then that The Confession happens (which will be in another post) (once i figure out How Exactly it happens)

so now they're dating! yay. scar's family find out pretty quickly, idk if they told them or maybe they walked in on them kissing, i dunno. but things are fine. and then they go back to where the college is for a new years eve celebration with friends.

they don't tell anyone they're together now but they also don't really...hide it. they're very affectionate, grian sits on scar's lap, they're touching a lot. absolutely sure they're making it very clear.

except...no one bats an eye. they don't even look at them twice. it's as if this is something they always do.

it takes them a bit to realize that...yeah, it kind of is. they've been affectionate with each other for months, and grian is often sitting on scar's lap already.

so they give that up and decide to just...act normally. and when the countdown to new years hits the end, they kiss, and the room explodes into chaos

their friends are all looking at them and questioning when the Fuck did they get together, how long has this been a thing, i thought you guys were just being even more insufferable than usual

their friends are all shocked but also not really. once they get over the initial surprise, there's a lot of "fucking finally"'s. everyone is incredibly relieved they finally got their shit together because it was so obvious they liked each other

Year in Review

It was nice to reflect on the year, I've been feeling shit lately and a bit like I didn't do anything for the past 12 months, but going back through my camera roll and stuff was a nice reminder that I actually did exist this year! yay

this post ended up being quite long so I'll put it under a cut

January: that all being said, January was pretty unremarkable lol

Febuary: this month is my gfs and my sister's birthdays :) I made the shirt for my sister and the Rauisuchus tiradentes for my girlfriend.

March: In March my girlfriend and I got two ferrets Dolchii (on the left) and Gluppii (on the right)!!!

My gf had been wanting more ferrets for a while (she already had one) so we got some! These guys are so sweet and silly and hyper. I love them so much. I also spend SO MUCH TIME playing Stardew Valley because of the update. (And not to brag, but on the new game file I started for the update, I completed the community center in the 1st year and unlocked ginger island in the 2nd year, and then essentially stopped playing for the rest of the year lol)

April: I wrote Stink Bug for the Carry On Sapphic Week. The rest of this month was sad, as my girlfriend's ferret Scooby passed. He was quite old for a ferret, and we kind of knew his time was coming, but my gf and Scooby had been best friends for eight years so it was a really hard time for her. He was such a good pet and friend and he's missed deeply

May: This month was not a whole lot better. Of course we were still mourning Scooby. And I spent most of May having the worst asthma attacks of my life. It was very stressful and added on top of all that, we had to move out of our apartment the next month, but because my lungs were so bad, I could barely pack anything.

June: Asthma was still doing its best to ruin my life, and we had to move!!! This move was genuinely so awful. So much went wrong, I spent like three days straight carrying boxes and furniture up 2 flights of stairs, I couldn't breathe, I was broke, and there are still some things I have not found since unpacking so I fear they are lost forever. on the upside, Dolchii and Gluppii very much enjoyed running around an empty apartment lol

July: July is usually busy but fun, it's my birthday, my nieces birthday, and my anniversary, but this year I got covid for the first time, so no birthday or anniversary celebration for me. Surprisingly and thankfully (with my lungs being as they are) I wasn't too affected by covid, it was just like a flu for me. So I made a lot of pixel art with nothing else to do while quarantining. I made this art of the main CO gang, the tiny mall wizard, the Smiling Friends gang that I never posted, and a rolly polly animation

August: this month was chill. The highlight was when I went camping at the coast and saw a weevil irl for the first time ever!!! I love bugs so much

September: My family and I went to an aquarium, a raptor center, and I found this really cool rock shop on the coast that I'd never been to before. I bought this tiny trilobite there. I also started playing Fields of Mistria which I quite enjoy.

October: HALLOWEEN!!!! my gf had the idea of us being like dnd characters for Halloween, so we got to work. My sister and I spend ages sewing a really sick cloak for my gf to be a wizard (and I'm realizing I have no picture of said cloak, but you have to believe me, it's cool lol) and i made some foam armor and painted myself green to be an orc. Unfortunately my girlfriend was sick on Halloween so we didn't get to wear our costumes together:( my sister got this lovely pic of me in mine tho. I also drew Egg Guy this month lol

November: I spent November prepping for the carry on countdown, posting Something Borrowed, Daydreaming, and If I were Him, if He were Me, and of course, being a mod for this event!!!

December: I managed to work on the coc and make people Christmas gifts this month! I made my sister a banana slug patch, and fixed the gar I gave her last year that she broke lol, I embroidered a little teacup for my mom, and made some felt casts and band aids for my niece to play doctor/vet with her stuffed animals. and I posted Lamb art, Are They Even?, Simon as a vessel, Teeth art, Brobelove Stardew au art, and a Carry On cross stitch. I think my favorite from the coc was my Lamb art, but the cross-stitch is a close second.

I feel like I spent a lot of this year just surviving, and I'm trying to remind myself that that is okay. and I am proud of myself for the art I did manage to make.

Going in to the new year, I want to be more consistent with journaling; I made 4 entries in my 2024 journal. I also want to continue working on pixel art and to get back in to embroidery more.

#RikAndAdeFest2025 Countdown! ⏳

Welcome back to the countdown! Today, we'll be hearing from the other scumbag involved in running the fest about what it means to them:

Ah, the Rik and Ade Fest. What can I say about our ongoing quest to fill the scumbags fandom with more fic and art? The fest is something I'm quite proud of, actually. This is a very small fandom, which encompasses some very old shows - it's not exactly the most fertile place for events like this, and yet we're up to round five! In my book, five is a pretty good milestone to hit, no? I mean, as a kid, turning five years old felt like a big deal.

As for why I got involved in the fest behind the scenes: first of all, I'm lucky to have such enthusiastic and creative mutuals. Dy is always taking part in fandom events; they're an expert at them. The Rik and Ade Fest was their idea, and they came to me asking if I'd be interested in it. People who know me may have gathered I really like organising and just generally being part of creative projects *coughs in Scumbag Monthly* so this was a no brainer for me!

One of the things I enjoy about participating in the fest - perhaps weirdly, considering the shows and characters we're dealing with - is the structure it gives me. I know when certain posts need to be scheduled for the fest blog; I know when the two month window I'll have for writing is; I know when the deadlines are. I'm pretty awful at sticking to fanfic update schedules when left to my own devices 😅 so the fest helps me there. So far, touch wood, I've always managed to rustle something up. And that's the whole point, at the end of the day.

I also really love the collaborative aspect of the fest. All creative endeavours are intrinsically collaborative, even when you think they're not, but the fest is very obvious about this in the sense we're literally making art and fic based on another person's idea. My favourite bit of any fest - aside from the reveal of everyone's work on 12th June - is the reveal of the prompt list. I love scanning through the shiny new ideas, as well as reminding myself of which older ones are still available. Finding the one that sparks a plot bunny in me is always an exciting moment. Plus, watching the number of prompts grow into the thirties has been very satisfying.

I think there's something to be said too these days about fandom as a space for fannish interaction rather than silent consumption. Fanfic writers and fanartists aren't automated bots making content for your next serotonin boost - they're your fellow fans suffering from the same brainrot as you! Find your people and appreciate them! ❤️

So, do I have a favourite out of the fics I've written? Hard to say. I'm quite fond of The Day of Rest because of the TYO/Bottom crossover. Rick and Vyvyan as Richie and Eddie's nephews will always be one of my most treasured headcanons. I think I rushed the climax too much, but I enjoyed writing everyone's dialogue. My other favourite is probably Alan B'Stard is Feeling Very Peculiar. 2022 seemed to be the year of the B'Stard for me, and I do have a habit of getting mildly obsessed with the psychologies of evil fictional men...

My little fest side quest for a while now has been to write for as many different Rik and Ade shows/films as I can. This year, I'll be keeping my eyes peeled for anything Drop Dead Fred, Kevin Turvey (my beloved ❤️), Comic Strip, or maybe even something else! Who knows! I'm looking forward to everything starting up again soon.

Updates, Tiers, and Snapshots

Hello, Stardusts.

It has taken me a while to state this out and have been pacing back and forth when it comes to how to word things.

Ever fighting my laptop, DITO is ready to go outside of a few touchups. I cannot release any of it or do more for it until I get my laptop upgrade. Likewise, I cannot do much of anything as my laptop is currently fighting me on everything. It's hectic and hell for me, but I am still doing what I can when it lets me.

I am currently working on a dual 3 tier level giveaways where I will give back to two communities at once.

For the FFXIV community, I will offer a free TC and sticker of Wuk Lamat, Erenville, then Koana (Latter two can be interchanged once Lamatry'i is finished and put to vote). For my own DITO community, Pinups of Alec, Morogh, then Sidney will be offered, along with the older pinup of Morogh that I have extras of.

Both giveaways will also offer free art. This is something to help tide over the wait. Keep in mind that depending on what is going on in the background (printer likes to cause issues right now), physical prizes might take some time to be sent. News on current conditions will be announced when the tier is reached.

The three tiers are intended to help give myself a new laptop and improving my workspace. The tiers might come by faster once one could expect~

To help me reach my goals, one could commission me through the 'Quest to 100' even if they are not ffxiv based. Prices will not be this cheap once I achieve one or all of my goals as I am using this to experiment how to draw faces and to test art techniques as I go

Yandere LI's can be requested for free by anyone. Keep in mind that they must be from a existing project that has been around for more than a month, I know where they are from, and the creator is +18. If one wants to support me while having me draw the Yans, there is a $10 discount.

Lastly, For those excited to play the DITO Demo. As a bit of a countdown, I'll be launching four snapshots. First will be intro to the other three. I will launch each one within each tier. A small vote has decided on what the focus will be around (as well as what the pinup lineup would be)
